Sacred Nine Project has a lot of things on the horizon, and with our relatively new non-profit, CANON 19 INC, we are poised to accept financial support that is completely tax deductible; documentation is provided in a donor receipt emailed to each supporter.
There are a few reasons we are fundraising:
-We want to continue to provide professional choirs for our March Sacred Nine choral concerts, and, given that we feature more than twenty artists, this requires a significant amount of resources.
-We want to help fund special projects for which full funding is lacking. For example, Sacred Nine Project will be presenting a nuanced, commemorative concert in October for Stephen Foster’s 200th birth year. It will take place in The Woods House in Pittsburgh, PA, where Foster first met the eponymous “Nelly Bly.” This concert will almost certainly be endorsed by the Library System at the University of Pittsburgh, which houses the Center for American Music and the prestigious Stephen Foster Collection.
-We want to apply for significant grants that require matching funds.
Marc Behar and Jeff Sbisa have graciously invited us into their home for heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a parlour concert, featuring the wacky, melodramatic, and finger-wagging music of the 19th century American Temperance Movement. You drinkers will enjoy “lush” entertainment that peddles (with tongue-in-cheek, of course) a message of teetotalism.
There are only 40 places available for this concert experience. If you would like to attend, please complete the brief questionnaire below. The system keeps submissions in chronological order, so that attendance can be on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that you fill out this questionnaire by Sunday, November 10, 2024, but I wouldn’t wait!
Once the attendees have been determined, I will email you, confirming your spot(s) and telling you how and when to remit your payment. I will also email those whose submissions arrived after we had already secured a “full house.” There will not be “tickets,” either paper or virtual. I will keep track of the guests via the survey and will have someone at the door with a list.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
